Night Vigil at Berdorf on 19 December 2015
About the Night Vigil
The association "Friends of Patton's 26th Infantry Division" was founded in 2004. The mission of the associaiton is to keep keep alive the memory of the valiant American soldiers who fought in Luxembourg during the Battle of the Bulge in 1944-1945. Each year in December the association organizes a ceremony, the so called "Night Vigil", to honor the American liberators of Luxembourg. The ceremony takes place in the presence of a representative of the U.S. Ambassy to Luxembourg, the local authorities and the citizens of the area. The ceremony is composed of speeches by the guests of honor, followed by a wreath laying and then a presentation that tells of the fighting in that area. This year we have decided to honor the valiant soliders of the 10th Armored "Tiger" Division. Our ceremony will take place at Berdorf on Saturday December 19th, 2015 at the monument of the 10th Armored Division.
Thank you for your support.

Give Their Full Support to the Vigil
The 10th Armored Division Veterans, Western Chapter, enthusiastically supports the planned Night Vigil in Berdorf. Here is the text of a letter written by the president of the Western Chapter formally endorsing our support of the Night Vigil.
Thank you for the continued efforts of your organization to commemorate and remember the sacrifices of the American soldiers in Luxembourg during World War II. Having attended the 2014 Night Vigil ceremony at Putscheid, I was particularly pleased to learn that the 2015 event is being planned for Berdorf, a key town where elements of the 10th Armored Division fought during the Battle of the Bulge.
After review by our Executive Committee, the 10th Armored Division Veterans, Western Chapter hereby extends our full endorsement and support to the Berdorf Night Vigil. We will promote the event on our web site, in our next newsletter, and through a mass E-mail to our membership. If there is anything specific that the Chapter can do to assist with the planning, please let me know.
Events such as the Night Vigil are very meaningful to our veterans and their families. Thank you again for helping to keep the memories of 1944–1945 alive.
